THE BRONX - Parishioners at one Bronx church are trying to pray while keeping a watchful eye on their belongings.

According to churchgoers, Saint Luke's on East 138th Street in Melrose has been plagued by recent crime. They say some members have reported their cars being broken into while in the parking lot right outside church doors.

One worshipper also said that a fellow Christian left her pew to take communion and returned to find her valuables were gone.

Saint Luke's is taking steps to try and stop thieves. Only one entrance and exit is open, and it changed the key lock on its candle box to a combination lock.
