THE BRONX - The Bronx Park East Community Association is continuing its fight for a traffic light at the intersection of Bronx Park East and Waring Avenue.

The city’s Department of Transportation told the group months ago that the intersection did not qualify for a stop sign or traffic light.

Group members cited the growing population of the neighborhood and the safety of nearby playground-goers as reasons the DOT should reconsider its decision.

They say they plan to petition and seek support from political leaders.

The DOT has not yet returned a call to comment on this report.
