Bronx Photographic Society members take part in contest

THE BRONX - Members of the Bronx Photographic Society presented their work to be judged in a contest Saturday.

The club previously existed as the NY Botanical and Zoological Photographic Society. Now, more than 60 years later, the club meets at Fordham University twice a month.

Members work in color, black and white and digital manipulation - taking photos of wildlife, nature, abstracts and portraits.

"We can let everybody see this is what this world is about," says club member Gloria Abraham. "Besides everything else, everywhere you look is beauty."

Harvey Augenbraun, the club president, says the organization welcomes people who are serious, want to become serious, or simply have a budding interest in the art of photography.
