THE BRONX - Realtors say the cost of homes has gone up in the Bronx in recent months.

In addition to real estate, a report from the Institute for Children, Poverty and Homelessness says income growth in the South Bronx has been among the highest in the city.

With the rise in income growth, the price of rent has also gone up, along with homelessness. The report also says during the same period of income growth, the number of families from Highbridge and Grand Concourse going into shelters has gone up by a third.

Joe Greene, from Weichert Realtors, says with real estate prices skyrocketing, some families are unable to afford rent anymore and are needing the services of homeless shelters.
