THE BRONX - A Bronx resident is now the second Hispanic to be confirmed to the state's highest court.

CUNY law professor Jenny Rivera was approved by the state Senate for the state's Court of Appeals after being appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Rivera faced some Republican opposition from lawmakers who claimed she didn't have enough experience as a trial lawyer and judge.
