THE BRONX - A Bronx resident was honored for his service in Manhattan on Monday.

Onix Lugo is a staff sergeant in the National Guard and is a United States Postal Service manager in Baychester.

Onix was called to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, and during Superstorm Sandy, he also helped his community in the recovery efforts.

The post office honored him Monday for his service, but Lugo insists he was just doing his job.

"I don't see myself as a hero. I just see myself as doing a job, helping people who are less fortunate than I am," says Lugo.
