Bronx residents attend Christmas Mass

News 12 spoke with residents who attended Christmas Mass. Father Peter Pomposello headed his sixth Christmas Mass at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church Wednesday morning.

THE BRONX - News 12 spoke with residents who attended Christmas Mass.

Father Peter Pomposello headed his sixth Christmas Mass at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church Wednesday morning.

He says he's happy that the children of his parish associate Christmas more with the Three Kings and less with Santa Claus. The Three Kings visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of frankincense, myrrh and gold. That celebration takes place on Jan. 6.

Parishioners say Jesus is the reason for the season and being in church on Christmas Day warms their hearts.

Father Pomposello encourages those who aren't religious to learn the meaning of the holiday.
