THE BRONX - Bronx residents celebrated their island pride in red, white and blue at Sunday's National Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan.

Entertainer John Leguizamo was the global ambassador tothe arts for the parade. The theme for this year's parade was "celebrating the naturalbeauty of Puerto Rico."

The Puerto Rican parade has been an annual event in New Yorksince 1958 and has grown to be one of the city's largest.

Bronx residents who didn't make it to Manhattan celebrated in the borough by donning festive colors, cheering and waving flags.
