THE BRONX - The World Cup kicked off in Brazil Thursday afternoon.

Residents in Kingsbridge gathered at the Bronx Ale House to watch host country Brazil face off against Croatia.

Brazil has won the tournament five times and is one of the favorites this year to win the trophy.  They defeated Croatia in the first game 3-1.
