THE BRONX - Residents armed with shovels and a troop of snowplows have been out in full force as the borough continues digging out after another round of snow.

The latest winter storm dumped about 19 inches in parts of The Bronx. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the snowfall was twice as much as expected in overnight weather forecasts, making for a difficult morning.

In Soundview, neighbors pitched in to help each other dig their cars out from under piles of snow. Residents say some cars are still buried and many side streets remain unplowed.
