THE BRONX - As temperatures surge into the 90s this week, Bronx residents are searching for fun ways to cool off.

Earlier in the day, families flocked to Orchard Beach to ride their bikes and enjoy their boats on the marina.

News 12's Ray Raimundi scoured the borough Tuesday to find the best places to beat the sweltering heat.

In Crotona Park, residents flooded the largest public pool in the borough.

Many residents found comfort at the American Turner's Beach Club in Throgs Neck, where they spent the afternoon jumping into the Eastchester Bay. The club is one of six beach clubs in the area.

And in Tremont, many crowded near the waterfall south of the Bronx Zoo for a cool breeze as their children played in nearby sprinklers.

Temperatures are expected to climb even higher Wednesday, when city officials say cooling centers are expected to open.
