THE BRONX - Some Bronx residents learned how to eat what they love without any of the guilt during an annual cooking event.

For the third year in a row State Senator Gustavo Rivera, Marc Academy & Family Center and South Bronx Job Corps teamed up to teach residents about some classic recipes.

With the holidays just around the corner, Chef Denis Williams showed families that they can keep the traditional dishes, but make them healthier.

Vegetarian Sancocho, a traditional Latin American soup, brown rice and brownies made from apples are some of the dishes that Chef Williams presented at the event.

One mother at the event said that it's not easy to get her children to eat veggies. She says the event gave her good ideas.
