THE BRONX - With Thanksgiving only a few days away, Bronx residents are preparing a variety of unique dishes for the holiday season.

Kris Rios, of Castle Hill, is preparing her traditional Puerto Rican beans. Rios says that she cooks turkey out of tradition, even though most of her guests don't eat it.

Anita Allen, of Soundview, is cooking oxtail with curry.

Yvette Johnson, of Parkchester, is cooking four hams and 12 sweet potato pies, and is expecting 50 guests at dinner. She woke up at 6 a.m. today and went to four different supermarkets to find the best deals.

Many residents say they are thankful for their families and jobs this holiday season.
