HUNTS POINT - Residents are questioning why Tiffany Street Pier at Barretto Point Park is still closed after Superstorm Sandy left its mark last October.

Some Bronx residents are saying they’re angry the city is taking so long to help rebuild what they consider the borough’s hidden gem.

When News 12 the Bronx reached out to the parks department, a Tiffany Street Pier spokesperson says the pier has sustained structural damage and an engineering consultant will be conducting an underwater investigation in the coming weeks.

After the assessment the parks department will form a design recommendation, which will include an estimated time of completion and reopening.
