Bronx residents speak out at town hall meeting

THE BRONX - Bronx residents turned out at a town hall meeting attended by local lawmakers to express their opinions on various matters affecting them.

One of the hottest topics at the meeting was rent prices.

Many complained that their landlords are gouging their rents to offset lost revenue from rent-stabilized apartments.

Others are worried about the state's rent regulation law, which is set to expire on June 15. Lawmakers vowed to protect residents from the threat of skyrocketing rent.

Other topics brought up included the MTA and its cuts to bus service.

Today's meeting was one of many that will be held throughout the Bronx.
