THE BRONX - Residents tried their best to stay cool amid the scorching heat and humidity Monday.

Many people found relief drinking cool beverages and lounging beneath the trees at Van Cortlandt Park.

Earlier Monday, residents exercised at the Williamsbridge Oval despite the high heat and humidity.

Experts suggest wearing lightweight clothing, shortening workouts and staying hydrated to make working out in hot weather more bearable.
