THE BRONX - An Arthur Avenue restaurant is lending a helping hand as central Italy recovers from a devastating earthquake.

Gennaro Martinelli, the owner of San Genarro, says he will be donating $2 to $3 from each order of the dish amatriciana to the Italian Red Cross.

It's a traditional dish consisting of pasta with chickpeas, a tomato-based sauce and topped with pecorino cheese that comes from Amatrice, the region hit hardest by the 6.2-magnitude quake.

The amatriciana dish costs $22, and the restaurant's owner says there is no set timeframe for how long he will donate a portion of the proceeds from the dish, although he expects it to continue for at least a few weeks.
