MORRIS PARK - People throughout New York City are heading to the Bronx just to get a taste of La Masa, a Colombian restaurant in the heart of Morris Park that opened up last year.

The husband-and-wife duo behind the popular restaurant say they are serving traditional Colombian fare like bandeja, paisa with steak and arepas. They also offer some non-traditional items like cheeseburgers and apple pie empanadas.

The owners say there is a lack of Colombian restaurants in the borough, despite its large population of Colombian residents. They say they want their culture's food to be well-represented in the community.

The owners say they offer 25 different kinds of empanadas, and are currently in the process of adding even more to the menu.
