THE BRONX - Supporters of the Bronx Greenway are pushing the city and state to finish the job.

The project, which adds a system of trails and parks to neighborhoods across the borough, has come to a standstill. In total, the Bronx Greenway project needs about $35 million in funding.

Starlight Park opened a few weeks ago just off of the Sheridan Expressway, but it still requires some work. The lack of progress is due to the Department of Transportation (DOT) not being able to work out a legal agreement with Amtrak over a walkway.

The Bronx River Alliance has started an online petition in hopes of getting the city to complete the project. The alliance is hoping to get 5,000 signatures by April.
