THE BRONX - Owners of a strip of Bronx River Avenue businesses picked up the pieces Monday after a fire destroyed the properties Saturday night.

Among the businesses damaged is the Christ Apostolic Church, which usually feeds residents in need. Rev. Joseph Famuyide says church members are devastated they won't be able to serve the community during the holiday season.

The Jimenez family, who owns a grocery store in the strip, says it will continue to evaluate the property to see if it makes sense to rebuild.

The Jimenez's grocery store and the barber shop next door are both uninsured.
