THE BRONX - Police were forced to close parts of the Bronx River Parkway after periods of flooding.

The parkway is closed beginning at the Westchester County line. It is closed in both directions between the Sprain Brook Parkway and County Center Road.

The rising Bronx River could swell and flood the roads after overnight rainfall pounded the region.
