THE BRONX - An 18-year-old Bronx robbery suspect is behind bars after escaping police custody in Manhattan.

According to police, Vincens Vuktilaj was first arrested in Harlem Monday, but broke away from police and ran as he was being led out of a building in handcuffs. They say he ducked into a subway station, causing major delays as officers searched for him.

Authorities recaptured the teen hours later. He's now being charged with assault and escape.

Police believe Vuktilaj is the man who was seen on surveillance video ripping the chain off the neck of a 93-year-old Bronx woman as she stood in her driveway.
