THE BRONX - Bus loads of parents, students and teachers from The Bronx are heading to Brooklyn tonight, where a Department of Education panel is expected to make a crucial vote on shuttering schools.

The panel will vote on phasing out 18 schools, four of which are in The Bronx: the School for History and Citizenship, the New Day Academy, the Assembly Academy for Young Men and a school on the James Monroe Educational Campus.

A vote on additional schools is expected to take place Thursday.
