THE BRONX - A Bronx community leader was remembered on Saturday for all he did for his community. 

Community leaders gathered to remember and memorialize community leader Dave Reid Jr., with the co-naming of Longfellow Avenue in his honor. 


Reid died in 2014, but his impact is still felt at Rock Garden Park, one of his proudest achievements.

Reid’s worked helped transform what was once a neglected trash lot into a park that has lasted for generations. 

Both Reid’s wife and son were present for the co-naming ceremony. 

Reid’s family say they hope that his legacy of helping the community will be forever remembered as people walk down Longfellow Avenue and see his name.
