Bronx street renamed after doo-wop group The Chords

THE BRONX - Officials have renamed Jennings Street at Prospect Avenue 'SH-Boom' after the legendary doo-wop group The Chords 1950s hit.

The renaming ceremony took place Saturday with the group's family and friends present.

The Chords are credited as one of the pioneers of what ultimately became known as R&B and rock and roll.
