Bronx students take regional science award

THE BRONX - A group of seventh-grade students from Horace Mann Middle School were selected as regional winners in the world's largest K-to-12 science competition.

The four seventh-graders were honored at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. Their creation, the Subway Smart system, took them to the top.

Students in the competition had to create technologies that could exist in the next 20 years. About 14,000 students entered the contest.
