Bronx teacher: Allegations are false

THE BRONX - A Bronx teacher accused of using racy language with a 16-year-old student says the allegations are false.

Daniel Smith, a former softball coach at Dewitt Clinton High School, allegedly asked the student to sit on his lap in 2007. He was been awaiting a hearing with the Department of Education since the accusations surfaced.

A spokesperson for the Department of Education says they don't comment on pending litigation.
