THE BRONX - One Bronx teen is thankful for a very special nurse this Thanksgiving.

Hussein Abdul, 16, contacted News 12 to surprise Joycelyn Johnson, a nurse at Montefiore Children's Hospital. He says she was his angel throughout a bone marrow transplant that cured him of sickle cell anemia.

He says no card or hug is big enough to say thank you to the nurse who he says made him smile even on his darkest days.

Abdul brought his family to surprise Johnson at work Wednesday.

Hussein's 12-year-old brother donated the bone marrow he needed.
