THE BRONX - Some trees in the borough received a little “Tree-L-C" at Pelham Bay Park.

Volunteers from Renaissance High School got to work clearing out weeds and other invasive plants near Orchard Beach to ensure the long-term health and survival of growing trees.

The city's Parks Department partnered with the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee and the NFL for the environmentally friendly event, which was put together by MillionTreesNYC.

MillionTreesNYC has planted more than 15,000 trees in Pelham Bay Park since 2007.
