THE BRONX - Dozens of volunteers in The Bronx are gearing up for this weekend's National Day of Service.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are encouraging everyone to give up a few hours of their time on Saturday to help those in need in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Bronx Councilman Jimmy Vacca and the city's Meals on Wheels program got a headstart by making a special food delivery to a 91-year-old Bronx man living on City Island. He received an MLK Day meal box in addition to his usual Friday food.
