THE BRONX - The borough paid tribute to some of its vets during a Veterans' Appreciation Day Breakfast for Bronx Week.

Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. honored the attendees, who included servicemen from as far back as World War II and as recent as the Iraq War. Each one received a certificate and a formal invitation to represent the borough in the New York City Veterans Day Parade.

A special commemoration was also made for the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
