THE BRONX - Construction will cause delays this weekend on the Major Deegan both north and southbound as drivers approach the Cross Bronx Expressway. One lane will be blocked during the day, but during the overnight hours, the Major Deegan may be shut down for periods of up to 15 minutes.

Sherman Avenue will be closed Saturday and Sunday from East 161st Street to 162nd Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect this weekend.

Weekend track work will affect two Wakefield-bound trains, which run express from East 180th Street to Gun Hill Road. Four Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Burnside Avenue to 149th Street-Grand Concourse. Six Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Parkchester to Third Avenue-138th Street.
