THE BRONX - Construction on the roads could delay travel in and around the borough this weekend.

The New York State Department of Transportation says two eastbound lanes will be closed on Bruckner Expressway approaching Bronx River Avenue. The closures will start at 9 p.m. Friday and last through Saturday at 3 p.m.

The eastbound entrance ramp from Bruckner Boulevard to the Bruckner Expressway at Bronx River Avenue will also be closed during this time.

The closures are necessary in order for NYSDOT to perform full-depth concrete deck repairs on deck damage that appeared during rush hour yesterday morning.

The permanent repairs will replace a temporary steel plate that has been in place since shortly after the deck damage appeared.

Travelers can expect delays and should consider alternate routes.
