Bronx woman convicted in slaying of 91-year-old

NEW YORK - (AP) - A woman is facing 25 years to life in prison forher part in the brutal 2003 killing of a 91-year-old woman during arobbery at the victim's home in the Bronx.

A jury on Wednesday convicted 34-year-old Nadine Panton, of theBronx, of murder and robbery in the death of Nelli Hocutt.

Prosecutors say the elderly grandmother was suffocated by havingan entire bottle of red wine poured down her throat and a plasticshopping bag tied over her head.

An accomplice, 25-year-old Sparkle Daniel, was convicted ofmurder last October and is currently serving a prison sentence of25 years to life.

Panton is to be sentenced Dec. 21.
