Bronx woman: Rats are driving me from home

THE BRONX - Tenants at 1064 Ward Ave. say an infestation of rats is running them out of their apartments.

"There's more of them than there are us," says resident Francine Flanders. According to Flanders, garbage problems have led to a heavy rat population in the alleyway near the building.

The Department of Health has had the property exterminated five times since October. Flanders says the repeated attempts to drive the pests out have not been enough, and she is now looking for a new place to live.

The property's management company has not returned messages left by News 12 The Bronx.
