Bronx woman's group makes push for census

HIGHBRIDGE - A Bronx woman's group is trying to get all Highbridge residents counted in the 2010 Census.

The Muslim Woman's Institute has teamed up with various Catholic relief services to make sure every resident in Highbridge is counted.

The group is an official assistance center and Census Bureau workers have been there to help residents fill out the forms.

Participation rate in the Bronx is lower than both the state and national rates, with only 56 percent of households counted.
