THE BRONX - A Bronx woman is warming the hearts of people in need, one sock at a time.

Laverne Sparrow founded the non-profit group Socks for Tots in 2007 to help homeless children, but she says it quickly took on a life of its own.

Sparrow now hosts frequent events and serves meals at seven different shelters throughout the borough.
