THE BRONX - An event was held at the New York Botanical Garden Monday to honor women in the Bronx during Women's History Month.

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, Elmhurst Hospital executive Atiya Butler and Westchester Square Business Improvement District executive director Lisa Sorin were recognized for their service to the community.

Sorin told News 12 that the event showed that women in the Bronx are having a significant impact on the borough.

This year marked the 12th that Rep. Joseph Crowley has held the celebration.
