THE BRONX - The Bronx Zoo is raising awareness for elephants affected by the ivory trade by providing free yoga classes.

In collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society, the zoo hosted three yoga classes Friday evening. The WCS says the high demand of ivory in Africa has caused mass killings of innocent elephants.

Participants are calling themselves "Yogis for Ellies," because they're helping to save elephants. The classes are led by famous yoga instructors, including 98-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch, the oldest yoga instructor in the world.

Zoo officials say they are expecting 600 people to help raise awareness.
