BronxWorks celebrates 40 years of service

FORDHAM HEIGHTS - A big party was thrown to celebrate BronxWorks' 40 years of service in the borough.

BronxWorks helps residents get through tough times and has helped reduce homelessness in the borough. It has also implemented model programs to help the youth and people impacted by HIV.

Jean Smith, a member of the organization's board, says it helps 35,000 Bronx residents a year.

The organization was previously known as 'Citizens Advice Bureau' until its name was changed in 2009.
