THE BRONX - The facade of a Bronx flat fix store collapsed Monday, sending bricks crashing to the sidewalk.

The incident happened at the El Gordo flat fix store on Jerome Avenue. Witnesses say the noise was so loud that they thought a car had crashed into the building.

A man who lives next door to the shop says the collapse shook his building.

Police are investigating what caused the collapse, but they believe old age may have been a factor. Nearby residents say they have noticed an incline in the building's facade for months.
