THE BRONX - Restaurants owners protested today about Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposed ban of Styrofoam.

Bloomberg proposed a ban on polystyrene back in February, and it was introduced as a bill in June.

Today, city Councilwoman Maria del Carmen Arroyo and supporters of the Restaurant Action Alliance NYC visited five local restaurants in the Bronx to discuss concerns if the legislation becomes a law.

Environmentalists have complained the material takes years to break down in landfills, but business owners say that the ban will hurt their business.
