THE BRONX - A day after a three-alarm fire destroyed at least five apartments on Sheridan Avenue, leaving two families homeless, some area businesses are also feeling the effects of the blaze.

The owners of a restaurant and a deli located on the first floor of 1504 Sheridan Ave., which was ravaged by fire, spent this morning clearing debris and soot left behind.

As the cleanup begins in the upper floors of the apartment building, the repairs to the businesses downstairs cannot begin until the water stops leaking from the damaged ceiling.
