Businesses try to pick up pieces after Jerome Ave. fire

THE BRONX - Five business owners with stores damaged by a four-alarm blaze on Jerome Avenue last week say they are trying to pick up the pieces.

Officials say the fire broke out Friday morning at 2111 Jerome Ave. in a Laundromat. About nine firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Many of business owners say they are unable to open their stores making them lose income everyday. The say they need to rebuild quickly after the fire took away their livelihood.
