Politicians play in handball tournament

GRAVESEND - A few politicians from Brooklyn and the Bronx duked it out Saturday in the 2015 Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournamentat at MatchPoint NYC, a fitness and sports facility in Gravesend.

The defending champions, led by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams squared off against Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and a squad of cross-town rivals.

Aside from trading smack talk and squaring off in handball, the politicians spoke about the importance of sports for public health and youth empowerment.

In addition a year worth of bragging rights, the winning team takes home a gleaming trophy, according to the borough presidents.
