THE BRONX - Bronx boxer Pedro Luis Sosa, who has been in a coma since getting into a car accident last month, has opened his eyes, according to his family.On Oct. 30, 19-year-old Sosa and his sister, Jennifer, were riding along the Cross Bronx Expressway when they were involved in a crash that sent their car over the edge of the roadway. Sosa's sister did not survive the fall, while the young boxer was left fighting for his life at Jacobi Medical Center.

Today, Sosa's father said the 19-year-old's athletic strength is helping him pull through.

The U.S. boxing national coach says Sosa just missed making the Olympic team that will compete in the 2012 Summer Games.
