BX building has been without gas for the entire summer

(08/18/10) THE BRONX - Residents at 22-29 Creston Avenue say they are livid that they have been without gas for close to two months.

Con Edison shut off gas to the building on June 20, until the owner makes necessary repairs to the gas lines inside. So far, residents say the owner has only ripped apart their apartments and that it doesn't seem to be getting any closer to being fixed.

The owner must hire a private plumber to come in and examine the repair work, and then sign off on it. Gas would then be restored to the building.

It has not yet been determined how long the repairs will take.
