THE BRONX - Small business owners along Fordham Road say this winter has been a costly one.

As more snow continued to pile up in the borough, fewer customers have ventured out to shop. Afia Irin, a cashier at Lola Store, says sales have never been so low.

At the Plaza Food Deli, owner Ali Ellenhabi says the store is normally packed for breakfast and lunch, but today it was almost impossible to get through the front door with all the snow.

The owners say they can only hope spring comes early this year.
