BX celebrates Fordham Fever Fridays, SalsaFest

THE BRONX - Bronx residents will have plenty to do this weekend thanks to Fordham Fever Fridays and the start of SalsaFest. The month-long salsa celebration kicked off at the Pregones Theater on Walton Avenue. Organizers screened a film, "From Mambo to Hip-Hop: A South Bronx Tale," with the second annual Dancing in the Streets event being held tomorrow in Hunts Point. Others headed to the Fordham shopping district, where the city urges people to shop at local businesses. The event takes place on the first Friday of every month, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
