BX celebrates Independence Day with fireworks show

ORCHARD BEACH - Independence Day isn't until next week, but The Bronx got an early start with the celebrations, as the borough hosted its 9th Annual Salute to America fireworks show Friday night at Orchard Beach.

Festivities kicked off early in the evening, with food and live entertainment. When the sun set, the main event took place with a big fireworks show.

The event was hosted by Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and state Sen. Jeff Klein.
